The Last Kiss of Summer
Last week's three-day Labor Day weekend — and with it, the unofficial end of summer — already has us pining for the lazy days gone by. Luckily, we're enjoying summer's last kiss with three brand-spanking-new recipes.
These fresh-and-fruity mocktails are the perfect way to enjoy warm days and cooler nights as summer gives way to fall. Wring every last drop out of the last few waning rays of summer sunshine with our Spiritless Strawberry Sour, Watermelon Mint Julep, or Tropical Delight.
Spiritless Strawberry Sour
Mwah! This play on a strawberry lemonade will get you all puckered up.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Spiritless Kentucky 74
- 3/4 oz Strawberry simple syrup
- 3/4 oz Lemon juice
- Strawberry
- Lemon slice
Shake all ingredients over ice and fine strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a whole strawberry and a lemon slice.
Spiritless Watermelon Julep
Our Spiritless spin on the mint julep will have you doing the "watermelon crawl."
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Spiritless Kentucky 74
- 1.5 oz Watermelon juice
- 1/2 oz Simple syrup
- 1/2 oz Lime juice
- Fresh mint
- Black salt
Put all ingredients in a julep cup or deep glass. Add 5 mint leaves and muddle. Add ice, preferably crushed or pebble ice. Garnish with a slice of watermelon, mint sprig and a sprinkle of black salt.
Spiritless Tropical Delight
Get Caribbean-ed away with this sassy lil' sipper.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Spiritless Kentucky 74
- 1/2 oz Giffard sirop aperitif
- 1 oz Pineapple juice
- 1/4 oz Simple syrup
- 1/4 oz Lime juice
- Pineapple
Shake all ingredients and strain into Collins/hurricane glass. Fill Collins glass with crushed ice. Garnish with pineapple.
